▶ 돌아가신 엄마를 찾아 떠난 시공간 우주여행!
주인공 앨비는 과학자 엄마아빠를 둔 소년이다. 어느 날 갑자기 엄마가 암에 걸려 돌아가시고 너무 바쁜 아빠와 단 둘이 남겨진다. 아빠로부터 엄마가 살아 있을 때 했던 연구 이야기를 듣고 시공간 우주여행을 할 수 있는 자기만의 과학 실험인 바나나 이론을 생각해 낸다. 운 좋게 실험은 성공하고 또 다른 세계로 여행하게 된다. 앨비는 또 다른 자신들과 만나며 예상하지 못한 일들을 겪는데 과연 앨비는 엄마를 만날 수 있을까?

▶ 자아 정체성과 가족애를 확인시키는 성장소설
앨비는 시공간 여행을 통해 자신과 똑같이 생긴 존재들을 만나 여러 가지 일을 겪으면서 스스로와 친구들과의 관계를 돌아보고, 늘 바빠서 앨비를 제대로 돌봐 주지 못한 아빠를 진심으로 이해하게 된다. 또한 엄마가 살아 있는 병렬 우주를 찾아가 그동안 궁금했던 것을 물어보고 자신의 이야기들을 허심탄회하게 털어놓으며 마침내 자신만의 해답을 찾게 된다. 사춘기 아이들의 자아 정체성은 물론 가족애를 다시 한 번 생각해 볼 수 있게 도와줄 것이다.
